The local authority is seeking a contractor to create a “high-quality playing surface that supports long-term use and community enjoyment”. Initial site preparation focuses on clearing and stabilising the area, with low-impact removal of debris and management of existing vegetation.

The client favours a low-/no-chemical approach to vegetation control and would prefer a mechanical approach to support soil health, reflecting “a broader commitment to sustainable land management”.

To ensure that the field performs well under varied weather conditions, a new drainage system will be installed for long-term resilience and ease of maintenance.

The field will be restored with high-quality root zone material and carefully seeded and fertilised to support healthy turf development, with the inclusion of flood flaps and maintenance access points to ensure safety and durability over time.

The value of the contract is £540,000 and works are slated to start on 14 July 2025.

The deadline date for receipt of expressions of interest is 21 May 2025.
