You are on the Future-ready landscapes: resilient planting, healthier soils and smarter inputs panel at GroundsFest this year – why should visitors come along to listen?
Great landscapes start from the ground up. Come along for practical advice,
inspiring conversations and plenty of ideas to help build healthier, more resilient
spaces.
What is your current role and area of expertise?
I currently represent several landscape and grounds maintenance companies so am
witnessing problems at both the installation stage through to several years down the
line when landscapes are being maintained.
What are some of the things your clients are doing to create more resilient landscapes?
Clients are now questioning planting plans issued by designers and architects, most
recommend the same common planting schemes without taking the environment into
consideration.
Considering climate change's impact on the landscape and amenity sector, what innovations are you seeing that will help mitigate seasonal changes?
Gator bags are now a lot more common on tree installations, also recommended
maintenance visits are moving away from the standard 22 visits per year as, visits
entirely for watering are being factored in a lot more.
What are you most looking forward to at GroundsFest?
I am looking forward to catching up with friends in the industry, it's the event of the
year when we all come together.
