Last week, growers auctioned flowers and plants worth more than €41,000 for Giro555 in their own initiative. In addition to a contribution in the form of transaction costs from growers and buyers worth more than €14,000, Royal FloraHolland has supplemented the total amount to €250,000. Some 697 lots have been auctioned, spread over 361 trolleys. The auction took place at all four auction locations: Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg and Eelde. Giro555 will use the financial contribution from Floriculture for food, shelter and other emergency aid.
