Top 25 Fruit Producers ranking sees growers facing increased production costs

HortWeek presents its new top 25 fruit growers by turnover for 2024.

The past 12 months have been difficult for UK growers. New data reveal that apple and pear growers have seen a further 5.5% increase in production costs over the past year. The 2024 cost of production analysis conducted by farm business consultancy Andersons found that it now costs £1.33 (median) to produce a kilo of British apples, up from £1.26 in 2023.
