Prize-winning plant stolen

This week, Farplants had a brilliant couple of days exhibiting at Four Oaks Trade Show, winning an award, but it ended sadly with a missing plant.

Farplants said: "We met lots of new faces, caught up with familiar ones and had a wonderful show all round. And then, to top it all off, we were absolutely thrilled to receive the Visitors’ Vote for our stunning Nepeta x faassenii ‘EarliBlue’ with 32% of the vote shortly followed in seconnd place by our new Salvia Tropicolour Sunrise.

"We were over the moon that visitors were so impressed with EarliBlue’s exceptionally early flowering and attractive, robust habit.

"Sadly, though, that is where the day took a bit of a turn…

"Our award-winning Nepeta ‘EarliBlue’ was stolen from its podium before we could safely transport it home.

"We can see why someone might have been tempted. After all, EarliBlue is the earliest flowering Nepeta (soon to be) on the market, is already an award winner from this year’s National Plant Show, and has a truly impressive habit, with robust, upright stems smothered in delicate purple blooms.

"So, if it was you who took our EarliBlue home with you, we want to let you know that you do not have to choose this life of crime… EarliBlue will be available to buy very soon!

"Please come forward, and let us know the plant is safe and well.

"And, if you have not discovered Nepeta ‘EarliBlue’ yet, perhaps this is your sign… although we would much prefer you buy one rather than steal one."
