Designed as a plantable pot for bedding plants, herbs, perennials, and landscaping crops, Jiffy Pot R3 stays stronger, cleaner, and in shape for longer than Jiffy Pot Original while offering a plastic-free alternative for growers seeking responsible solutions.
Growers supplying retail and landscaping markets need pots that perform reliably, work well in automated systems, and maintain a clean appearance throughout cultivation. Jiffy Pot R3 was developed to meet these needs by combining improved durability with responsible material choices.
Jiffy Pot R3 is plastic-free, and its main components are bio-based, organic, and fully recyclable in the
paper waste stream. The pot can be planted directly into soil or into larger pots or hanging baskets. This waste-free solution benefits both consumers and landscapers; with no pots to collect or dispose of, it reduces plastic waste and saves time and effort, and the pot supports and benefits the soil as it breaks down into soil- or substrate-like material.
For landscaping projects, this approach can significantly reduce the time needed to collect and dispose of empty pots, saving as much as 30% on labour and time.
Compared to Jiffy Pot Original, Jiffy Pot R3 lasts longer and stays cleaner throughout cultivation. Under the right conditions, the pot can remain dry and visually clean for up to 12 weeks, supporting a tidy presentation throughout the sales cycle.
Depending on the application, Jiffy Pot R3 can last up to 12 months, making it suitable for both short- cycle retail crops and longer-term landscaping or perennial use. Good crop management during cultivation helps growers maintain pot strength and appearance across different systems.
The breathable fibre walls of Jiffy Pot R3 support natural root pruning, helping plants develop a larger, well-branched root system more quickly. The breathable structure creates a more oxygenated root environment, supporting healthy root development, reduced pressure from root diseases, reduced root circling and strong plant growth.
Produced in Denmark and available made-to-order, Jiffy Pot R3 is offered in 8 cm and 10.5cm diameters (3” and 4”), in both peat and peat-free versions. It is recommended for spring and autumn bedding plants such as primulas, pansies, geraniums, and petunias, as well as potted herbs, vegetables, and short-term perennials.
With its natural fibre appearance, Jiffy Pot R3 helps growers and retailers visually differentiate plant ranges in-store while offering a cleaner, breathable, and durable fibre-based alternative to plastic pots.
