Fresh Produce Consortium asks Burnham to scrap £300m checks on non-EU imports
The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) has written to new Prime Minister Andy Burnham urging him to "make fresh produce part of his cost-of-living fight by scrapping an avoidable plan that would add more than £300 million a year to the cost of the fruit, vegetables and flowers Britain imports from beyond Europe".
