Four Oaks success: 50 years and counting

“A buzzing atmosphere, high-quality attendance and the positive experience of exhibitors made the 50th anniversary Four Oaks Trade Show particularly successful. As a result, we’re nearing 85% sold for 2023 space already," says organiser Christina Walker.

The 2022 show featured more than 320 exhibitors and boasted a refreshed seminar programme. Exhibitors came from across the globe, the vast majority from UK and rest of Europe, but some from as far afield as Israel, Japan and New Zealand to be met by enthusiast buyers from every section of UK horticulture.

"Everyone was really pleased to be back at Four Oaks with many exhibitors saying it turned out to be their most successful ever. Now we’re working hard to move the show forward and make the next event even better’ added Walker.

Why exhibit?

Four Oaks Trade Show is the UK’s leading exhibition covering the whole of commercial horticulture. From production to point-of-sale, the breadth of exhibits on display is unrivalled, attracting a broad visitor base. The event takes place on a 23-acre nursery site in Cheshire UK, close to the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope, covering an area of 13,000m² under glass with additional outdoor areas.

Massive displays of plant material form the heart of the show, with young plant producers using the platform to launch the next season’s lines. Mature stock and specimen plants from across Europe create magnificent showcase displays. Machinery, growing media, supplies, sundries, retail products, Christmas ware, services and practically everything the sector can use or re-sell is found somewhere at the show. More than 35% of participating companies are from overseas.

A unique offering

Four Oaks has earned the reputation within the industry as being a unique setting for people to do business and socialise in a relaxed setting. The show offers exhibitors a value-for-money proposition, coupled with an ability to receive and handle plant material directly from all over the world, making exhibiting at Four Oaks a unique opportunity for suppliers targeting the UK.

The world’s young plant specialists gather at Four Oaks, including Ball, Darwin Plants, Denis-Plant, Beekenkamp, Genesis Plant Marketing, Hilverda Florist, Kernock Park Plants, Liner Plants New Zealand, MNP Suntory, Plandorex, Schneider, Seiont Nurseries, Syngenta, Newey, Volmary, GASA, Fairweather’s and many more.

Mature stock comes from across Europe and the UK, including from nurseries such as Allensmore, Carlesi Vivai, Consorzio Ortovivaisti Pistoiesi, Covili Franco, David Austin Roses, Europlants, Gelderplant, Green Mile Trees, Huverba, Innocenti & Mangoni, Kolff, Lovania, Minier, Laxsjon Plants, Mondi Plants, Pentland Plants, Plant Iberia, Spanish Plants, Zelari Piante and many more.

More than just plants

There will be more than 100 categories of products and services at the 2023 show - everything from production to point-of-sale, plus landscape and garden design. Buyers come for growing media, machinery and equipment, pots and trays, irrigation, glasshouse services, energy and lighting and labelling. There is also an extensive range of retail products including sundries, merchandise and gifts, landscape products of all kinds, as well as marketing, advisory and IT services.

Exhibitors include Better Growing, Brinkman, Desch Plantpak, Evergreen Horticulture, Fargro, Floramedia, Hortec/Javo, Hortifeeds, ICL, Lbs Horticulture, Melcourt, Modiform, PPC Labels, Pöppelmann, Sinclair, Soparco, XL Horticulture and many more.
