Caledonian Horticulture returns to Four Oaks

Caledonian Horticulture is built on a simple idea: turning local waste into something valuable, and is exhibiting at Four Oaks Trade Show (Lower Withington, Cheshire, 2-3 September 2-26).

Caledonian

Behind the brand is Forth Resource Management, founded by Tommy Dale in 2002 after a college project inspired a more sustainable approach to green waste. What began at East Fenton near North Berwick has grown into a multi-site operation across Scotland, transforming green and woody materials into compost, topsoil blends, woodchip and other useful products for gardeners, growers, and communities.

Sustainability remains at the heart of the business. Through its circular approach, Caledonian Horticulture takes materials that might otherwise go to waste and turns them into products that help gardens and landscapes thrive. It’s One Planet Pledge extends this commitment through fuel offsetting, tree planting, and the Community Compost Scheme, which donates around 500 tonnes of Green Goodness Soil Improver each year to schools and local groups growing their own fruit and vegetables.

That commitment also reaches beyond the company’s own sites through woodland creation, beach cleans, fundraising, sponsorship and support for local causes, with more than £80,000 contributed over the years. Guided by values of sustainability, quality, integrity, growth and people, the business has built strong relationships with customers, councils and partners while earning recognition across organics recycling, sustainability, natural capital, and community benefit. More recently, Caledonian Horticulture has also used video, digital content, and documentary filmmaking, including Shaping Our Shores, to raise awareness of wider environmental issues and share the story behind its work.

If you’re visiting the Four Oaks Trade Show, keep an eye out for Caledonian Horticulture’s Sales Manager, Lucy Firman, who will be out and about at the show meeting customers, suppliers, and industry colleagues. If you spot Lucy during your visit, be sure to say hello. She’ll be happy to chat about Caledonian Horticulture, its product range and how the business can support customers and trade partners.
